Jim Quadra concentrates on civil litigation. Prior to founding Quadra & Coll, LLP, Mr. Quadra was the managing partner of Calvo, Fisher & Jacob, LLP from 2010 until 2012. Before joining Calvo Fisher & Jacob, Mr. Quadra was a name partner in the San Francisco law firm of Moscone, Emblidge & Quadra, LLP for 12 years. Before founding Moscone, Emblidge & Quadra, LLP he was a deputy city attorney with the San Francisco City Attorney's Office for over 8 years. Mr. Quadra was the Chief of General Litigation, supervising approximately 30 deputy city attorneys involved in a full range of civil litigation on behalf of San Francisco. Before becoming a deputy city attorney, Mr. Quadra was an associate at the law firms of Severson & Werson and Gray, Cary, Ames & Frye, where he specialized in commercial and securities litigation and bankruptcy law.

 

Mr.Quadra is a trial attorney with extensive litigation experience in class actions and cases involving employment issues, unfair business practices, business disputes, civil rights, legal malpractice, police misconduct, municipal law, catastrophic injuries and wrongful death. He has tried cases in state and federal courts. 

 

Mr.Quadra is fluent in Spanish and handles cases involving coordination with counsel in Spanish-speaking countries. 

 

Mr.Quadra is a skilled negotiator with significant alternative dispute resolution experience. He serves as a private mediator and also as a volunteer mediator for the San Francisco Bar Association Early Settlement Program and the San Francisco Superior Court Pre-Arbitration Settlement Program. 

 

Mr.Quadra has handled cases that have drawn national attention. He has been interviewed by and quoted in the National Law Journal, The Recorder, the SF Chronicle, the Washington Post and the New York Post, among other publications. He has appeared on Larry King Live, On the Record with Greta Van Susteren, The Glenn Beck Program, KGO-7 News (ABC) and KDTV-14 News (Univision). 

 

Peer organizations and independent reviewers have recognized Mr. Quadra’s achievements. For the past three years, he has been included in The Best Lawyers in America. He was named the Best Lawyers' 2014 San Francisco Mass Tort Litigation/Class Actions - Plaintiffs "Lawyer of the Year." In addition, Martindale-Hubbell recognizes Mr. Quadra as an AV Preeminent rated attorney. An AV rating identifies Mr. Quadra as an attorney with very high to preeminent legal ability and the highest ethical standards. He has been named a Northern California Super Lawyer as published in San Francisco Magazine and Northern California Super Lawyer Magazine for eleven consecutive years (2005-2015). Mr. Quadra has presented continuing legal education lectures for CEB, the Consumer Attorneys of California, the County Counsel’s Association of California, the San Francisco City Attorney's Office and the San Mateo County Bar Association. 


Mr. Quadra is the Chairperson of the San Francisco Unified School District's Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee and the President of the Board of Directors of the Buen Día Family School. 


Mr. Quadra received his law degree in 1987 from the U.C. Berkeley School of Law - Boalt Hall where he was a Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholar and a bachelor's degree in business administration in 1983 from the U.C. Berkeley Haas School of Business.
